The Four Coins blend is quite different and offers a lot of fun and interest. With Cabernet Sauvignon as the dominant player, this gives a great backbone to provide support and structure for the other varieties to impart their store fruit flavours. Enjoy!!

Tasting Note

Alcohol

14.5 % vol

Barrel Maturation

Matured in French oak barrels for 18 months.

Vintage Notes
Following two particularly dry seasons, fingers were crossed that the 2021 vintage would be much kinder. Conditions through summer were relatively mild, with cool mornings and maximum temperatures below 300°C for most of January, providing optimal ripening conditions. The quality was exceptional, with Reds having intense, rich, and balanced flavours and colours.

Winemaker Notes
Colour: Dark red with garnet hue.
Nose: Sweet spice, dark red fruit characters and a touch of leafiness
Palate: A elegant structure with mouth filling red fruit characters. Touch of herbaceous and earthiness to give complexity.
Four coins is a unique blend of four grape varieties, which has become a hit with many. Cabernet Sauvignon to give it structure, Shiraz to add fruit fullness, Grenache just to just give it that little bit more and Merlot for sweetness. A fabulous food wine with great interest, we hope you enjoy something that’s just a little bit different.

2021 Vintage Reviews

Deep red with a purple tint; the bouquet is reserved but cedary, with raspberry jam overtones and a whiff of volatility. This is a bit overripe but has plenty of flavour and the price is right.

Sweet spices of vanilla pod mix with inky tones on this boldly-styled blend. Its presence on the palate is noted by its warmth and intensity. It's ripe, rich and packed with flavour, a perfect antidote for cold weather.

Gabrielle Poy- The Real Review

Northern Barossa-sourced cabernet sauvignon/shiraz/merlot/grenache, matured in French oak for 18 months. Crimson in the glass with fruit notes of satsuma plum, blackberry and boysenberry on a base of spice, purple flowers, licorice, light herbal flecks and vanilla. Medium bodied with a savoury palate shape, bright acidity and compact, sandy tannin support. A good bistro wine..

2019 Vintage Reviews

Mid red purple in the glass, with aromas of deep dark plum and blackberry fruit, framed by baking spice, dark chocolate, northern Barossa earth, violets, licorice and cedary oak. Medium bodied in the mouth, with a wash of dark and black fruits, abundant spice and redfruit highlights. Fine, sandy tannin provides support.

Deepish ruby colour with brick and purple traces. The bouquet has a planky-wood overtone, and is fairly rough and ready. There's a touch of astringency: it might benefit from a bit more time in bottle.
