Meet Nick

After tending to these vines right across his life, Nick knows every contour of his land.

He has spent decades honing his ability to work with the seasons and fluctuating conditions, to produce the premium fruit that has been sold to prestigious Barossa wine brands and is now used for Lost Penny Wines.

Nick first learned his craft by helping his Dad, Uncle and Grandpa from a young age.

The vineyard has been passed through the generations, and Nick counts himself lucky that he still had two generations of grape growing wisdom to draw upon when it came time for him to take over the family blocks.

As Nick will tell you, his passion for grape growing in the Barossa Valley is something he can’t switch off and he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

“We’re gamblers! It’s the risk, the anticipation and the intrigue about what the next season will bring.

I count myself very lucky and privileged to work in this world-renowned area on our family’s Ebenezer property. The love of the land and ability to work and live in the wide open spaces is something so special.

But the unknown is what keeps you coming back for more.”
