Experience Lost Penny for Yourself
We invite you to become part of the Lost Penny story through our range of relaxed and intimate tasting experiences.
You’ll be guided by us – Nick & Carol – a pair of sixth generation Barossans. Being the grapegrower and winemaker is a unique combination, and will give you an equally unique experience.
You’ll hear tales of our family’s heritage and why the fruit from the Ebenezer region is so highly sought after. And, you’ll be immersed in the current season that we’re in.
Held on the property the Riebke family has worked since the late 1800s, and where our family calls home – you’ll get a true feel for our way of life, and discover our winemaking from the ground up. All while soaking up the stunning views rolling hills, majestic gums and sweeping vineyards.
Taste our current vintage in the authentic surrounds of our working winery, where there is so much to smell, see and learn. You can also stand among the vines, where the oldest shiraz vines were planted more than 100 years ago.
Plus, if you’re lucky – you might spy the gleam of a lost penny yourself!

Taste our Way of Life
The name Lost Penny Wines was born after finding the first coin in the vineyard. The penny had spent many years on the dirt – a 1891 Penny. It amazes us how we could still read the date on the coin after so many years hiding underground. It was only fitting that we would name this very special wine in honour of the year in which the first coin helped in shaping our new adventure.
Carol will take you beyond the label with a tasting flight of our current vintage within our working winery, including a winery tour.

Barrels & Vines
Dive deeper into the seasons and cycles of winemaking and grapegrowing, to discover what makes our wine so special and stand on the earth they’re grown in.
As well as tasting our current vintage, you can pique your palate with barrel tastings, then head into the vineyard to appreciate where our wines are grown
Take a walk with us to admire the old homestead and the gorgeous stonework, timber and iron of a bygone era.
